Select a face-up card, then a destination column. Dragging also works.

A different kind of sequence

Moves build down in the same suit rather than allowing cross-suit destinations. Scorpion on 7wqm.com uses one 52-card deck with four suits. Four complete King-to-Ace runs clear the game. The tableau has seven columns.

The initial seven columns

Three cards remain in the stock. All cards in the last three columns are face up. Each opening column contains seven cards for a total of 49 tableau cards. The first three cards in each of the first four columns are face down.

Build in the same suit

Keep these points in mind. A seven of hearts cannot land on an eight of spades. A seven of hearts can land on an exposed eight of hearts. A King cannot land on another card because no higher rank exists. A moved group's leading card must land on a card exactly one rank higher in the same suit.

Move exposed groups

A few details help explain this feature. Any face-up card can be selected together with every card beneath it. The selected cards do not need to share a suit to travel together. The leading selected card still has to meet the destination rule. The selected cards do not need to descend in rank to travel together.

Only Kings fill empty space

The following details apply here. An empty column accepts a King or a group led by a King. Cards beneath a moved King do not need to be in sequence. A group led by a lower rank cannot enter an empty column. An empty column is therefore less flexible than an empty column in ordinary Spider.

Uncover another choice

Keep these points in mind. The next hidden card is revealed automatically. Removing all face-up cards above a hidden card turns that hidden card face up. An exposed card can carry the cards beneath it when its own destination is legal. Undo restores the earlier hidden-card arrangement when the move is reversed.

The final three cards

This Scorpion version permits its stock deal when columns are empty. There are no further stock cards after the three-card deal. The stock contains one final deal of three cards. Dealing places a face-up card on each of the first three columns.

Collect ordered runs

Here are the details for this mode. All thirteen cards in a collected run must be face up. A completed run must descend from King to Ace in one suit. Moving an unordered group does not make that group a completed sequence. The game removes a qualifying run automatically from the bottom of a column.

Practice Scorpion decisions

A few details help explain this feature. Hint lists legal choices without promising a winning continuation. A move can carry unwanted cards along with a useful leading card. Checking the whole moved group helps you anticipate what will become blocked. Replay and Undo let you explore another approach to the same layout.

Your separate local record

Keep these points in mind. Scorpion keeps a separate saved position when game saving is enabled. Random Scorpion shuffles are not advertised as guaranteed winnable. My Statistics records Scorpion starts and wins separately from other variants. Privacy & Cookie Settings lets you remove local saved games and results.
